Eloro District is a project that tends to convey all the activities in the territory of Avola, Noto, Pachino, Portopalo di capo Passero, Pachino and Marzamemi activities such as: cultural, agricultural, accommodation, catering, tourism, archeology, sports and crafts. A program that specifies and diversifies the quality of an area. “The quality and not quantity”, for a conscious contemporary tourism on the lookout for authentication, growing stronger all the time. In need, the first is to give uniqueness to a diverse lands, virgin and still poorly organized, which is preparing to become a leading role of tourism through the rediscovery of its history, traditions, differences, places and true potential. Eloro District is the first real Local Network when tourists will be able to know better our area in terms of itinerary and places very often not present in the official tourism guides. APP will show Eloro District Itineraries, Recipes, Places and Local Companies in a very simple and easy way. Tourist will be updated also about Eloro District events living the area like a local.
A hybrid immunological algorithm based on the clonal selection principle of the immune system, for the Weighted Feedback Vertex Set problem (WFVS). Finding the minimum feedback vertex set in a graph is an important combinatorial problem that has a variety of real applications. The proposed algorithm, developed in Python using NetworkX library, has been tested on different instances of the problem. Each instance is characterized by the number of vertices (size), the number of edges and a range of values for the weight of the vertices. Various experimental results show how the proposed immunological algorithm is efficient in terms of accuracy as it reaches or approximates the various optimal values of instances. These results confirm also the robustness of the algorithm whose effectiveness does not appear to be influenced either by the range of assigned weights, or by the nodes or graph classes used.

The current view of the big data have been enormously changed due to management of big quantities of data, moreover an efficient analysis of them is a difficult task. For these reasons our project, using distributed computing techniques same as MapReduce and MPI, to analyze social networks contents, searching inside keywords (hashtag) summarizing and highlighting, in a geographic map, places where these keywords are most used. This tool is a social network contents analyzer that predict and intuitively understand mobility phenomena, natural disasters, social events, social trends and opinions, thanks to a geographic representation of this contents.
A Hybrid Recommendation System for car sales, developed using R-language and a graph-based database (Neo4J), which combines content-based and collaborative filtering approaches. Cross-validation technique (k-fold Cross-validation) was used to validate created model.

This project aims, through machine learning techniques, at creation a model for image classifications, dowloaded by Flickr API. There have been several types of classifications, on a dataset containing images of category “bird” and “mammal”. The purpose is to train a model which classifies images as “animal-volatile” or “non-volatile”.
The different classifiers are compared with corresponding values of “accuracy_score” that measure the efficiency. In particular have been implemented and compared the following classifiers: 1-nn, 3-nn, 5-nn, Logistic Regression (one-vs-rest), Logistic Regression (multinomial), Gaussian and Multinomial Naive Bayes.

AFAM Students Web Portal is a software platform developed by the Accademia di Belle Arti in Catania in collaboration with the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science, to support the operational needs of the teaching management, in reference to the new organizational models currently being tested in the sector AFAM. Currently five different institutions were involved in the AFAM sector (ABA Catania, Napoli ABA, ABA Palermo, Firenze ISIA, Conservatorio di Potenza), who tested the limits and potential of the system, in order to improve its features, optimize and improve its performance.

The main purpose of BioTAGME is to provide a tool that allows algorithmic text analysis texts and the extraction of latent associations in order to enrich their comprehension. In particular, BioTAGME focuses on biology, using the PubMed database as a source of knowledge, and as a basis for researching new biological knowledge. Given an input set of texts annotated with terms characterizing each document, the aim of this methodology consists of computing a new set of annotation terms as much as possible related to the input set but having no synonyms among the old annotations. To reach this purpose, approach consists of defining a correlation measure to compute a score which simultaneously ensures high correlation with the source and no possibility to build a random set of terms of the same size having a correlation greater than or similar to the computed one. BioTAGME implies the execution of four main steps:

DT-Web is a web-based application for drug-target interaction and drug combination prediction through domain-tuned network-based inference. The interface to the DT-Hybrid algorithm, applies a recommendation technique based on bipartite network projection implementing resources transfer within the network. This technique combined with domain-specific knowledge expressing drugs and targets similarity is used to compute recommendations for each drug.
